| Global Health: Since its inception in 2001, the CSIS HIV/AIDS Task Force has worked to build bipartisan consensus on critical U.S. policy initiatives related to HIV/AIDS and other global health challenges. Its primary focus has emphasized the importance of sustaining U.S. leadership on HIV/AIDS among U.S. policymakers, opinion leaders, and the corporate and NGO communities. The work of the HIV/AIDS Task Force has expanded into other areas of global health policy with particular emphasis on tuberculosis, malaria, avian and pandemic flu, as well as other structural challenges, including the nexus of drug addiction and HIV, health systems strengthening, and global health diplomacy. |
