Smart Power Speaker Series: "National Security Resource Planning: Integrating Civilian and Military Tools"
CSIS hosted Dr. Gordon Adams, professor of international relations at American University's School of International Service, distinguished fellow at the Henry L. Stimson Center, and director of Stimson's new program on Budgeting for Foreign Affairs and Defense, for a discussion on how to reform the planning and budgeting processes for U.S. national security policy. Dr. Adams served as an advisor to the CSIS Commission on Smart Power and was a member of the CSIS Task Force on Nontraditional Security Assistance. Kathleen Hicks, senior fellow of the international security program at CSIS, chaired the session.
