Description:

CSIS's Technology and Public Policy Program hosted David McCormick, under secretary of commerce for industry and security. McCormick spoke about Bush administration plans to implement its policy for facilitating high-tech and strategic trade with China in a way that safeguards U.S. National Security. McCormick, having recently returned from meetings with top Chinese officials in Beijing, discussed challenges and opportunities for U.S-China high technology trade. John Hamre, president and CEO of CSIS, gave opening remarks.
