CSIS's Middle East Program hosted a discussion with Amre Moussa, the secretary-general of the League of Arab States. Moussa's talk covered a range of regional topics and focused on constructive steps to alleviate tensions and mitigate violence in the region.

Moussa is one of the Middle East’s most experienced diplomats, having been elected secretary-general of the Arab League in 2001. He served as Egypt's foreign minister from 1991-2001, and previously as Egypt’s permanent representative at the United Nations and ambassador to India.
