On Wednesday, April 4 from 9 - 11 a.m., CSIS's Technology and Public Policy Program hosted an event featuring:

  • Mr. Anoop Mishra, Economic Minister, Embassy of India

  • Mr. Carlos Alfredo Lazary Teixeira, Minister-Counselor for Economic Affairs and Trade Policy, Embassy of Brazil

  • Dr. Yang Guohua,  Counselor for Intellectual Property, Embassy of the People's Republic of China

  • Dr. Robert Shapiro, former U.S. Under Secretary of Commerce for Economic Affairs and current chairman of Sonecon, LLC


Dr. Shapiro provided introduction and will moderated the panel.  The discussion focused on IPR's effects on domestic economies and innovation, as well as foreign investment, technology transfer, trade, and broader growth.
