Guy Caruso presenting the Department of Energy's International Energy Outlook 2007
Guy Caruso, administrator of the U.S. Department of Energy's Energy Information Administration, released the agency’s International Energy Outlook 2007 (IEO2007). The latest edition of this annual publication includes projections of world energy demand by region and primary energy source through 2030; electricity generation by fuel type; and energy-related carbon dioxide emissions. The report highlights the effects of robust economic growth in China and India on international fuel markets, the likely future levels of OPEC and non-OPEC oil production, the expected global gains for coal in the power generation sector, and the increase in carbon emissions associated with growing energy consumption.
