Professor at the Universidad Central de Venezuela and Director of the Laboratorio de Ciencias Sociales, LACSO; Luis Pedro España, Director of Programa Pobreza, Universidad Católica Andrés Bello, Caracas; and Francisco Rodríguez, Assistant Professor of Economics and Latin American Studies, Wesleyan University, discussed key social issues in Venezuela, including poverty, crime, social organization, grassroots politics, and the influence and effect of the "misiones."
