The CSIS Russia and Eurasia Program invites you to a talk on Tuesday, February 26, at 12:00 p.m. by Dr. Shoichi Itoh on Russia’s energy diplomacy in the Far East. As Russia looks to develop its natural resources in East Siberia and the Far East, it also hopes to enhance its role in the Asia-Pacific region, especially in relation to neighboring countries such as China and Japan. However, both economic obstacles and zero-sum thinking could prevent Russia from realizing its goals of multinational cooperation in the region.
