Description:

The Southeast Asia Initiative hosted a forum entitled Burma: Standing at a Turning Point on April 8, 2008. The event featured commentary by Charm Tong, founding member, Shan Women’s Action Network (SWAN) and 2008 Vital Voices Global Leadership Honoree. Michael Green, senior advisor, CSIS, and Aung Din, executive director, U.S. Campaign for Burma, joined Charm Tong on the panel. The event was moderated by Derek Mitchell, director of the CSIS Southeast Asia Initiative.
