As the crisis in Somalia heightens with increasing violence and worsening humanitarian conditions, the international community continues to assess the prospects for peace in the country. At the session, a panel of experts will examine current diplomatic efforts to reach a political settlement between warring parties, increasing involvement by the United Nations Security Council and other international actors, and the various humanitarian challenges in Somalia.
