Mr. Akufo Addo is former Ghanaian Minister of Foreign Affairs and a presidential candidate for the New Patriotic Party in Ghana’s upcoming elections, slated for December 2008.  He addressed the nexus between democratic governance and economic progress, using Ghana’s experience as a case study.
