Description:

The CSIS Global Aging Initiative held a conference on "The 2001 Pension Reform: Implications for Germany and Europe" at the Deutsche Bank AG conference facility in Berlin, where a new GAI report, Germany and the Challenge of Global Aging, was released.   

At the conference, leaders in government, business, and the academes addressed the aging of Germany and its greater implications for Europe. Participants included, German Labor Minister Walter Riester, Horst Seehofer, MdB, Former U.S. Ambassador John Kornblum, Austrian Labor Minister, Martin Bartenstein, Patrick Liedtke, Secretary General of the Geneva Association, Norbert Walter, Chief Economist of Deutsche Bank, and Frank Field, Member of the British Parliament.
