Description:

His Excellency Taro Aso, who currently serves as Japan’s minister for foreign affairs and previously served as minister for internal affairs, reviewed the current situation in East Asia, examined the opportunities and challenges currently facing Japan, and offered some insight into the critical role the U.S.-Japan relationship will play in ensuring a stable and prosperous Asia in the future.

John Hamre, president and CEO of CSIS, provided the introduction and Michael Green, senior adviser and holder of the Japan Chair moderated the event.
