David Earnest is an adjunct fellow with the CSIS Europe Program and an assistant professor of political science and international studies at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia. He received his B.A., with honors, from Stanford University and his M.A. and Ph.D. from the George Washington University. While at George Washington University, he served as a graduate research assistant to David Auerswald and to James Rosenau. Earlier, Dr. Earnest was a fellow with the CSIS Political-Military Studies Program. His publications include On the Cutting Edge of Globalization, with James Rosenau, Yale Ferguson, and Ole Holsti (Rowman & Littlefield, 2005), Making Transatlantic Defense Cooperation Work, with Geoffrey Pattie, Michael Smith, Dan Goure, and Robin Niblett (CSIS, 1996), and Breaking Down the Barricades, with Boyd McKelvain and Irwin Pikus (CSIS, 1994).
