Peter Choharis is a lawyer in Washington, D.C., specializing in complex dispute resolution in both foreign and domestic fora, including litigation before U.S. and foreign courts and arbitration before international tribunals; government relations before U.S. and foreign governments and agencies; and strategic counseling. Mr. Choharis is a frequent speaker and lecturer on international law and foreign affairs. In 2006, he spoke before the ABA International Section Meeting, the MIGA-Georgetown Symposium, the World Bank, the Overseas Private Investment Corporation, the American Society of International Law, and the George Washington University School of Law. His media appearances include CNN-International, BBC, NPR, MSNBC, REUTERS-TV, and other networks where he discussed law and foreign policy. Mr. Choharis is also a visiting scholar at the George Washington University School of Law, where he is writing a series of law review articles on expropriation under international law. His first law review article appeared in the Yale Journal on Regulation and has been cited in more than 25 law journals and used in many law school courses. Mr. Choharis served as executive director of the 2004 Democratic Platform Committee and advised the Kerry presidential campaign on foreign and legal policy beginning in November 2003. Mr. Choharis has also been an adjunct professor of law at the Washington College of Law, American University, and taught a seminar on international law as a visiting lecturer at Yale College. In addition to his scholarly writings, his articles have appeared in the National Interest, Washington Post, International Herald Tribune, Wall Street Journal, Los Angeles Times, Boston Globe, Christian Science Monitor, and other publications. He is a graduate of the Yale Law School and Harvard College, where he was awarded the Sheldon Traveling Fellowship.
