Fariborz Ghadar is a distinguished senior scholar at CSIS. In addition, he holds the William A. Schreyer Chair of Global Management and is director of the Center for Global Business Studies at Penn State. He is a leading authority on future business trends and global corporate strategy and implementation. Dr. Ghadar serves as a consultant to a score of major corporations, governments, and government agencies and regularly conducts programs for executives of major multinational corporations here and abroad. Earlier, he served as an investment banker at the International Finance Corporation (World Bank), as well as research coordinator of the Harvard Multinational Enterprise Project. He was the recipient of the 2004 and 2005 Weyerhaeuser Educator of the Year Award and CIO Magazine’s Global Leaders Award. BusinessWeek named him one of the top 10 "Stars of Finance," and he was named one of the top 10 leaders and practitioners of strategy coaching in The Art and Practice of Leadership Coaching: 50 Top Executive Coaches Reveal their Secrets (Wiley, 2004). Dr. Ghadar is the author or coauthor of more than 10 books on global economic topics, including Global Tectonics: What Every Business Needs to Know (Center for Global Business Studies, 2005), Financing Growth in Developing Economies (Center for Global Business Studies, 1999), and New Information Technology and Its Impact on Global Business Management (Center for Global Business Studies, 1998), as well as numerous articles. He received his B.A. and M.S. in mechanical engineering from MIT and his M.B.A. and doctorate from the Harvard Business School. |
