Colonel Thomas W. Russell became a commissioned officer in the U.S. Marine Corps after graduating with a B.S. in civil engineering from the Virginia Military Institute in 1986. Assigned the primary duties as a logistics officer, Col Russell has served in various operational assignments with Marine infantry, artillery, intelligence, and combat service support organizations. His staff assignments include Headquarters Marine Corps tours with Programs and Resources, as well as Installations and Logistics. Col Russell has an M.B.A. from Oklahoma City University and an M.S. from the Naval Postgraduate School. He is a certified management accountant and a certified professional logistician. Col Russell is a graduate of the Air War College and a former Massachusetts Institute of Technology Seminar XXI fellow.
