Anthony Bryan is the director of the Caribbean Program and senior research associate at the North-South Center of the University of Miami. Bryan was previously a senior associate at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace and a fellow at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars of the Smithsonian Institution. He served for a decade as the director of the Institute of International Relations at the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine, Trinidad and Tobago, and as tenured professor of international relations. Bryan has been a consultant to several Caribbean governments, international organizations, and corporate clients. His scholarly publications comprise more than 60 articles and 12 books and monographs. Bryan was born in Trinidad and educated there and in the United States. He received his Ph.D. in Latin American history from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln.
