Rebecca Perlmutter is the coordinator for the Office of Membership Groups, where she assists with the organization of high-level membership meetings and helps manage the Center’s outreach efforts to its member groups. Prior to joining CSIS in September 2005, she clerked at a family law firm in Northern California. She has also interned for a variety of nonprofit organizations, including Amnesty International and the ACLU. Ms. Perlmutter has lived and studied in South Africa, where she volunteered at township primary schools, conducted independent research, and traveled extensively. She holds a B.A. in political science from Bates College, where she completed a senior honors thesis on democratization, women, and AIDS in South Africa.
