H. Andrew Schwartz is the CSIS vice president of external relations, responsible for directing the Center’s media relations and other external relations matters. Prior to joining CSIS, Schwartz was a spokesman for the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), America’s pro-Israel lobby. Prior to that, Schwartz produced the Fox News Channel’s Special Report with Brit Hume for more than five years and subsequently served as a White House producer for the network.

 

As a print journalist, Schwartz writes frequently for the Washington Post, Washington Times, and various national newspapers and magazines on music and culture.

 

Early in his career, Schwartz served as a research assistant to former Carter domestic policy adviser Stuart E. Eizenstat, at Powell, Goldstein, Frazer, and Murphy, and as a legislative fellow in the offices of Senator J. Bennett Johnston (D-LA), and Representative Lindy Boggs (D-LA). He holds a B.A. in political science from Tulane University in New Orleans and an M.A. in broadcast journalism and public policy from American University.
