James R. Dunton

Director, The CSIS Press
James Dunton is director of The CSIS Press, the publishing arm of the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) in Washington, D.C. Prior to joining CSIS, he held the position of publisher, academic and trade, at Greenwood Publishing Group in Westport, Conn. Earlier, he was executive editor and then editor in chief at Praeger Publishers in New York, N.Y. He has also served as consulting editor for Praeger, Brassey’s, and M.E. Sharpe Publishers. Active in the Washington, D.C., publishing community, he is a member of the Washington Book Publishers, as well as the Society for Scholarly Publishing, the Association of American Publishers, the International Institute for Strategic Studies, and the English-Speaking Union. Mr. Dunton holds a B.A. from the University of Virginia and an M.B.A. from the Graduate School of Management at Boston University. He is the subject of biographical listings in Marquis’ Who’s Who in America and Who’s Who in the World.
