Conrad F. Heede is a CSIS research associate, working in the office of Dr. Fred C. Iklé on a broad range of projects encompassing globalization, defense, homeland security, proliferation prevention, and weapons of mass destruction. His areas of expertise also include U.S., European, Russian, and Middle Eastern diplomacy and political analysis. Mr. Heede joined CSIS in January 1999, working on the U.S.-EU Poland Action Commission, where he was in charge of researching and analyzing the political and military challenges Poland faced during its accession to NATO. Prior to CSIS, he interned with Senator John Kerry (D-Mass.), working on immigration reform and national security. Mr. Heede received his M.A. in U.S. foreign policy from American University in Washington, D.C., and his B.A. in history and economics from the University of Texas at Austin. |
