Brian Harding is a research associate in the International Security Program (ISP), where he primarily focuses on Southeast Asia and Japan. Prior to joining CSIS, he was a Fulbright fellow in Indonesia, where he studied the significance of Chinese Indonesians in the China-Indonesia bilateral relationship and served as codirector of the Institute for Historical Justice and Reconciliation’s Indonesia initiative. Previously, he was a research assistant for Improving the Nation’s Security Decisions project, a research assistant at the National Defense University’s Institute for National Strategic Studies (INSS), an intern with ISP, and a volunteer English teacher in Nong Khai, Thailand. His writings have appeared in China Brief and the Indonesia-based Jurnal Nasional. He holds a B.A. in history and Japan studies from Middlebury College and an M.A. in Asian studies from the Elliott School at George Washington University. |
