Adam E. Sieminski is the chief energy economist for Deutsche Bank. He is currently working with the commodities research and trading unit in Deutsche Bank’s New York offices, having returned in mid-2005 from three years in the London office as part of the DB Global Oil & Gas Equity Team. Drawing on extensive industry, government, and academic sources, he forecasts oil market trends and writes on a variety of topics involving energy economics, politics, and prices. From 1988 through 1997, Mr. Sieminski was the senior energy analyst for NatWest Securities in the United States, where he covered the major U.S. international integrated oil companies. From 1973 to 1978, he was the energy specialist at Washington Analysis Corporation, an investment research group in Washington, D.C. He received both his undergraduate degree in civil engineering and his masters in public administration from Cornell University. He has testified on energy topics before the U.S. Congress, the U.S. Department of Energy, and the International Energy Agency, and he has lectured at Oxford University and the U.S. National Defense University. He has been president of the U.S. Association for Energy Economics and the National Association of Petroleum Investment Analysts. He has also served as chairman of the Supply-Demand Committee of the Independent Petroleum Association and as an advisory member of the Strategic Energy Task Force of the Council on Foreign Relations. He is a member of the London, New York, and Washington investment professional societies and holds the chartered financial analyst (CFA) designation. |
