NEW YORK: Crude oil rose Tuesday to a record $100.10 a barrel in New York on speculation that OPEC would cut production when it meets next month.
"I doubt OPEC will be cutting production when they meet next month," said Robert Ebel, chairman of the energy program at the Center for Strategic and International Studies in Washington. "They are likely to sit where they are and see what happens. Demand always falls a bit in the second quarter, so there's no reason to increase production."
