The PCR Project welcomes Ambassador Charles Ries, U.S. Minister for Economic Affairs and Coordinator for Economic Transition in Iraq

The event will be chaired by Rick Barton, Co-Director, PCR Project

Ambassador Ries will review current challenges to Iraq's economic growth in the post-surge environment. With some improvements to security, are there now opportunities for the Iraqi government and the international community to foster investment and development? And what of the impact of rising oil prices? Will they mean increased resources for the Iraqis to direct toward this effort? Ambassador Ries will outline key signs of economic progress over the past few months, and examine ways in which redirected international assistance can support the trend.
