That’s the congressional tradition that members of the Senate Judiciary Committee followed Wednesday when they grilled top oil executives on the skyrocketing price of oil and their record profits. [ . . .]
"It’s a political year, it’s an election year, and you are not going to get much new through Congress," said Robert Ebel, chairman of the energy program at Washington's Center for Strategic and International Studies. "They can stir the pot a little, but there is not much they can do."
