On Iranium
About Enriched Iranium, by Ethan Chorin
Enriched Iranium sprang from a few months’ consistent read of Arabic and Farsi sources on the US-Iranian relationship. I felt a posting offering multiple perspectives—both Iranian AND Arab, in particular—on key issues in Iran-U.S. relations might be a useful assist in framing policy.
Current pieces touch on subjects like, what do Arabs think about U.S. policy towards Iran, and the Iranian elections? What are Iranian views of evolving U.S. policy towards their country? How much do Iranians follow the US primaries? What are the tangible effects of Iranian economic policies?
I am currently a Senior Fellow in the Middle East Program at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, where I focus on Gulf Economies and Iran. I have led an eclectic career, working as a business developer for a major oil company, serving as U.S. Commercial/Economic attache in Libya, and writing a Ph.D. on port competition in Yemen and the Red Sea. My previous avocation yielded my first book, Translating Libya: The Libyan Short Story, Saqi Press (2008). I speak Arabic, Farsi, French and Hebrew.
