The Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), in partnership with the French Government and with the support of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, is organizing a transatlantic session, to be held in Paris January 15-16, 2006, that will bring together a diverse, high-level group of Americans and Europeans, comprising approximately 30 political figures, policymakers, global health experts, economists, and foreign policy experts. The principal subject for discussion will be the U.S.-European relationship on global health. The group will explore how it might leverage greater U.S.-European collaboration and joint leadership on core global health challenges, with a primary focus on tuberculosis, malaria and HIV/AIDS.
