The Changing Face of Proliferation
CSIS began work in August 2004 on the Changing Face of Proliferation project.  This 10-month project, which has been extended through August 2006, has CSIS senior scholars working on a multifaceted project aimed at gaining a better understanding of current developments and trends in the changing field of proliferation.

The project addresses questions such as which countries might seek nuclear weapons, what the demand is for WMD weapons/materials by non-state actors, what is the receptivity worldwide to a tougher counterproliferation agenda, what is the nature of the biological weapons threat, and what are the WMD challenges in the former Soviet Union. Robert Einhorn leads the project.
