On October 4, 2006, the Human Space Exploration Initiative in the Technology and Public Policy Program, in partnership with the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization and the International Astronautical Federation, and with the support of the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs, co-hosted a workshop at the 57th International Astronautical Congress in Valencia, Spain, bringing together members of academia, educational professionals, and space agencies as well as policymakers to discuss the value and dissemination of educational materials aimed at promoting human space exploration around the world.
