Synopsis:

Following the recently concluded U.S.- China Strategic Economic Dialogue (SED) and Joint Commission on Commerce and Trade (JCCT), it is time once again for Washington trade pundits to comment on and critique the quality of this year’s holiday bounty. Adjectives already being bandied about include “modest results”, “failed” and “fell short.” But if you are looking to these pages for a provocative pronouncement of success or failure, I am afraid we must disappoint. As far as SED results are concerned, let us just say that our expectations were met.
