The CSIS Global Health Policy Center and the Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation, in partnership with the Congressional Global Health Caucus, hosted two leading experts on the H1N1 flu outbreak, Harvey Fineberg and Anthony Fauci. In the Rayburn House Office Building on Capitol Hill, they discussed:

  • What we know and do not know in regard to the current H1N1 flu outbreak,
  • The continued relevance of key U.S. decisions made at the time of the 1976 swine flu outbreak
  • Critical policy decisions that lie ahead as the U.S. government, the World Health Organization (WHO), and other institutions attempt to ensure adequate preparedness.
