The Project on Nuclear Issues (PONI) is pleased to invite you to a live debate at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on April 13, 2009 in the B1 conference center. The debate will be the second in a series of live debates we are hosting at CSIS as an extension of the “PONI Debates the Issues” blog (PDI). This debate will address the following topic:

Resolved: The Obama administration should make the Global Zero vision of a world free of nuclear weapons a central focus of its foreign policy.

The debate will feature two extremely qualified experts on the issue. Taking the pro side of the argument that Global Zero should be a central focus will be George Perkovich, Vice President of Studies at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace. Taking the con side of the argument that Global Zero should not be a central focus will be JD Crouch, Former Deputy National Security Adviser and Assistant to the President.
