About Seven Futures The SEVEN FUTURES project, an outgrowth of the Seven Revolutions initiative, assesses the defining outlines of the world in the year 2025 by examining the “alternative futures” of seven key regions of the world. Seven Futures zooms in on specific policy challenges raised by global strategic trends—ranging from demographic change to the allocation of scarce resources to systems of governance. The seven regions the project explores include: · Latin America and the Caribbean, · Europe, · the Middle East and North Africa, · Sub-Saharan Africa, · Russia and Central Asia, · South Asia, · and East Asia and South East Asia. By looking at broader regional trends and identifying specific countries driving regional change, Seven Futures provides an expert “bird’s-eye view” of tomorrow’s challenges. The purpose of this project is to prepare current and future leaders across the world to confront these issues by creating and carrying out policies today that will impact longer-range consequences. Seven Futures Website The Global Strategy Institute created the SEVEN FUTURES WEBSITE to reach the broadest possible audience and push current and future leaders to think about the long-term challenges facing the world. For each region, the website offers an in depth summary of the regional trends and drivers of change, lists of suggested readings, and discussion questions. Peterson, the project’s creator and director, has presented to every sector—from government to corporate to academic to nongovernmental organizations (NGOs)—and every setting—from small local boardrooms to large auditoriums across the world.
