Homeland Security Strategy Forum
In an effort to stimulate a national dialogue on the critical issue of homeland security strategy, the Center for Strategic and International Studies, in partnership with Deloitte & Touche, has established the new Homeland Security Strategy Forum – the purpose of which is to advance insightful discussion, thinking, and analysis on protecting America against the threat of catastrophic terrorism.
The forum is an informal and off-the-record gathering of senior government officials, ambassadors, and representatives from leading businesses, academia, and the public policy community. In the historical salon of the Smithsonian American Art Museum’s Renwick Gallery, recognized thought leaders will offer long-term visions and practical insights on homeland security issues, charting a roadmap for the development of future homeland security policies. The inaugural forum, held March 22, 2006, featured Frances Fragos Townsend, assistant to the president for homeland security and counterterrorism.
The second forum, held July 19, 2006, featured Former Senators Gary W. Hart and Warren B. Rudman, co-chairs of the the U.S. Commission on National Security/21st Century.
