Iraq Study Group
|
The Iraq Study Group has released its report, which CSIS has made available here. The bipartisan Iraq Study Group is co-chaired by James A. Baker III, the former secretary of treasury and state who now serves as honorary chairman of the Baker Institute for Public Policy at Rice University, and former congressman Lee H. Hamilton, director of the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars. Other members are: Lawrence S. Eagleburger, Vernon E. Jordan Jr., Edwin Meese III, Sandra Day O'Connor, Leon E. Panetta, William J. Perry, Charles S. Robb, and Alan K. Simpson.
How CSIS Is Involved The United States Institute of Peace is coordinating the initiative; CSIS is a sponsoring organization. CSIS experts Jon Alterman, director of the Middle East Program, Rick Barton, director of the Post-Conflict Reconstruction Project, and Michele Flournoy, senior adviser with the International Security Program, served on working groups that advised the study group.
More Iraq ResourcesCSIS has a number of other resources concerning Iraq, including a primer that discusses the various U.S. policy options being debated now. Those resources are available here. |
