This project seeks to promote understanding and cooperation between China and the United States by convening a series of track 1.5 meetings on challenges to international security. Working with the Beijing-based China Reform Forum, CSIS has held four meetings, in December 2002, November 2003, November 2004, and April 2006 focusing on, respectively, Sino-U.S. anti-terrorism cooperation, the emergence of China in a globalized world, the implications of China’s growing role in the Asia-Pacific region, and China’s growth and implications for the U.S.-China relationship.
