The most recent meeting of the U.S-China Strategic Dialogue was held in Seattle, Washington on April 19, 2006 during the visit of Chinese President Hu Jintao to the United States.  The topic of discussion was "China's Road to Peaceful Development and the Future of Sino-U.S. Relations." Opening remarks were delivered by Chinese President Hu Jintao, followed by a discussion between a distinguished group of Chinese and American scholars.
