Nobuhiko Hibara

Nobuhiko Hibara
Mr. Nobuhiko Hibara is an Inamori fellow and an associate professor of finance at the school of business administration at Ritsumeikan University in Japan. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in international economics from the University of Tokyo in 1988 and received a master’s degree and doctorate in economics from Columbia University. Prior to his professorship, Mr. Hibara worked as a visiting fellow to the Ministry of International Trade and Industry at the Research Institute of International Trade and Industry in Tokyo, Japan, and consulted at the World Bank.

Shigeki Miwa

Shigeki Miwa
Mr. Shigeki Miwa is an Inamori fellow and the general manager of the Recycling Solutions Department of the Metal Business Development Division at Mitsui & Co. Ltd. in Tokyo. He graduated from Waseda University in Tokyo with bachelor’s degree in history and received an MBA and a master in financial management from Macquarie University in Sydney. He has spent his career with Mitsui & Co. Ltd. based in Tokyo and Sydney. In 2005, he completed the Innovative Leadership Program at the Institute of Strategic Leadership.

Shinichi Mizuta

Shinichi Mizuta
Mr. Shinichi Mizuta is an Inamori fellow and a senior policy analyst at the international project department for the International Strategy Research Group at the Mitsubishi Research Institute. He received his bachelor’s degree in political science at Waseda University and his master’s degree in international relations at New York University. He is also a PhD candidate at the graduate program in human security at the University of Tokyo. Previously, Mr. Mizuta worked in a variety of positions at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Japan, including the minister’s secretariat in the general affairs division.

Shiuan-Ju Chen

Shiuan-Ju Chen
Ms. Shiuan-Ju Chen, from Taipei, Taiwan, is 2008 Vasey fellow at the Pacific Forum CSIS in Honolulu. She received her B.A. in political sciences from National Taiwan University in 2005 and her M.A. in international affairs from the Elliott School of International Affairs at the George Washington University in 2007. Prior to working at Pacific Forum, Ms. Chen interned with CSIS in Washington, D.C., and at the Institute for National Policy Research in Taiwan. Her research focuses on China’s transition and reform, cross-strait relations, and East Asia security.

Cedza Dlamini

Cedza Dlamini
Prince Cedza Dlamini is cofounder of the Ubuntu Institute for Young Social Entrepreneurs and, since 2004, has served as a spokesperson and advocate for the United Nations Millennium Development Goals. In addition, he is chairman of the World Youth Peace Summit in Africa. Prior to this, Mr. Dlamini worked for Mitsubishi Corporation and Mandela Dlamini and Associates. He received his bachelor’s degree from Tufts University and his business and international business degree from the University of Massachusetts. He is a descendant of King Subhuza II and the grandson of Nelson Mandela.

Manuel A. Gonzalez-Sanz

Manuel A. Gonzalez-Sanz
Mr. Manuel A. Gonzalez-Sanz is a partner at Facio & Cañas, the largest law firm in Central America. From 2004–2006, he was the minister of foreign trade of Costa Rica. He served as the ambassador from Costa Rica to the United Nations in Geneva, Switzerland, from 2002–2004, where he headed the delegation to the Commission on Human Rights. Prior to that, he worked as the special adviser to the vice president of Costa Rica from 1992–1994. Mr. Gonzalez has served on several boards of directors and councils and taught at the University of Costa Rica. He studied as a Fulbright Scholar and graduated from the University of Costa Rica Law School in 1989 and from Columbia University Law School in 1995.

Rekha Krishnan

Rekha Krishnan
Ms. Rekha Krishnan is the UNNITI fellow and the head of the senior school at Vasant Valley School in New Delhi, India. Prior to this, she was the academic coordinator for the senior school and a history teacher. She holds bachelor degrees in arts and education from New Delhi University; in addition, she has a master’s degree in ancient Indian history from the University of New Delhi and a master’s of science of education from Northwestern University. Ms. Krishnan has attended several educational leadership workshops, including a course at the Principals’ Center of the Harvard Graduate School of Education.

Umma Aliyu Musa

Umma Aliyu Musa
Ms. Umma Aliyu Musa is the acting director of admissions at the American University of Nigeria. She received her bachelor’s degree from Bayero University Kano, a diploma in Journalism from Ahmadu Bello University in 1997, and a master’s degree in Hausa Philology from Bayero University. She has also worked as an English-Hausa translator, a French language instructor, and was copresenter of Poetic Minds, a radio literary program for the Kano State Broadcasting Corporation. She speaks Hausa, English, French, and Arabic.

Timothy Sommella

Timothy Sommella
Lieutenant Timothy C. Sommella is an active duty U.S. Coast Guard officer assigned to the Washington, D.C., area. He is currently serving as a planning and special projects officer with the Coast Guard headquarters assistant commandant for capability in the Office of Shore Forces. Lieutenant Sommella graduated from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy in 2000 with high honors, earning a B.S. degree in government. He completed his master’s degree in public administration from Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government in 2007.
