ABOUT AMBASSADOR ANNE ARMSTRONG
The Anne Armstrong Leadership Award was established in honor of the former ambassador to the Court of St. James. Ambassador Armstrong began her political career in 1956, while raising a family of five children, and by 1971 had earned the single honor of becoming the first woman to keynote the Republican's Party's National Convention. In 1973, she became the first female Cabinet-level presidential counselor and, subsequently, the first woman to serve as the U.S. Ambassador to Great Britain.
