In April of last year Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice urged the West "to shine a spotlight on places where people are still denied freedom". In response to mounting human rights violations, independent media restrictions, and increasing authoritarian tendencies of the Belarusian regime, this page aims to highlight the recent efforts of CSIS and its partners to bring the events of Belarus into the international spotlight.

A Day of Belarusian Solidarity-a movement organized on the 16th of every month to express solidarity with the opposition.

Charter 97- A citizens' human rights organisation based around the principles outlined in the Charter 97 document, is a non-partisan organisation which has organised protest rallies and has provided a springboard for other democratic movements in the country. It also maintains a website of news with a focus on human rights developments.

Embassy of Belarus in Washington D.C.-The official site of the Embassy of Belarus.

Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty Belarus Service-reports on the current situation in Belarus, as well as provides political analysis and hosts numerous discussions and events pertaining to deocracy in Belarus.

Zubr/Bison- is a civic youth organization in Belarus in opposition to President Alyaksandr Lukashenka.
