The Scholl Chair, established in 1981, examines the relationship of international trade and investment to economic growth, innovation, sustainable development, and political autonomy in the United States and throughout the world.
Scholl Chair programs have included: seminars of former United States Trade Representatives; a discussion series on current trade policy issues jointly sponsored by the Scholl Chair and the Economist; creation of an online site dedicated to providing college students and advanced high school students objective analyses of major globalization trends and related interactive learning opportunities; and private, off-the-record meetings of major trade policy stakeholders seeking common ground on contentious issues such as trade and the environment, and trade and labor.
