Advancing toward Universal Health Coverage through Smart Choices

July 20, 2015

As countries around the world advance toward universal health coverage, leaders are looking for ways to best use resources to improve health and promote long-term economic development and social stability. As part of the discussion, consensus is evolving over how to ensure coverage considerations are equitable, transparent, evidence based, and responsive to the needs of patients and local health systems. In the spring of 2015, the CSIS Global Health Policy Center gathered global and country experts for a stimulating discussion of current models and approaches for moving the conversation forward. This report summarizes the event and includes key messages from speakers.
