Putin to North Korea

Vladimir Putin will visit North Korea for talks with leader Kim Jong Un on Tuesday, furthering concerns about the growing military cooperation between the two states at a time when Moscow is hungry for munitions to use in its war against Ukraine, as The Washington Post reports.

Israeli War Cabinet Dissolved

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu dismantled the war cabinet set up to bring a unified approach to the fight against Hamas, as a top U.S. envoy traveled to the region to push diplomatic efforts aimed at heading off a wider conflict with Hezbollah on the Lebanese border, as the WSJ reports.

IMF AI Warning

The IMF said it had “profound concerns” about massive labor disruptions and rising inequality as societies move towards generative AI, and it urged governments to do more to protect their economies, as the FT reports.
