Helicopter Crash in Ukraine

A helicopter carrying senior Ukrainian officials crashed on Wednesday in a Kyiv suburb, damaging a kindergarten and a residential tower and killing more than a dozen people, including Ukraine’s minister of internal affairs and other pivotal figures in the wartime leadership, as the NYT reports.

US’s Yellen and China’s Liu seek to ease concerns over economic tensions           

China has said it would welcome a visit by Janet Yellen this year after the US Treasury secretary met vice-premier Liu He in Zurich, marking the first top level economic meeting between the powers since Joe Biden took office, as the FT reports.

Sharp Greenland Warming Spike

A sharp spike in Greenland temperatures since 1995 showed the giant northern island 2.7 degrees (1.5 degrees Celsius) hotter than its 20th-century average, the warmest in more than 1,000 years, according to new ice core data released in a study by the Alfred Wegener Institute in Germany, as the AP reports
