Sydney A. Seiler is the United States Department of State’s new special envoy for the Six-Party Talks. In his first trip in his new capacity, Mr. Seiler is currently traveling to Beijing, Seoul, and Tokyo from September 28 to October 3 with Special Representative for North Korea Policy Glyn Davies and the new director for Korea at the National Security Council Allison Hooker for meetings with their counterparts. Mr. Seiler recently made the transition from the White House’s NSC to the Department of State on September 2 as part of a reshuffling within the Obama’s administration team that deals with both Koreas.
