U.S.-ROK RELATIONS | Deputy Secretary of State Anthony Blinken Visits the ROK
In his first trip since becoming the U.S. deputy secretary of state in January 2015, Anthony Blinken visited South Korea from February 8 to 10. On February 9, Deputy Secretary Blinken met with ROK first vice minister of foreign affairs Cho Tae-yong, to discuss the U.S.-ROK alliance and coordination on the North Korea issue and regional and global priorities. He also spoke at a luncheon hosted by the American Chamber of Commerce in Korea and the Korea International Trade Association (KITA). On February 10, he met with ROK minister of national defense Han Min-koo to discuss the alliance and President Park’s North Korea policy. He will go to China and Japan before returning to Washington on February 14.
