NSPIR Current Issues No. 37: Trends in U.S. Defense Contracting Outside the Continental United States

Since President Obama took office in January 2009, the international security environment and the United States’ activities have changed substantially. These shifts in policy and posture have resulted in changes in international contracting. The data allow for the evaluation of two important policy questions: Where are the majority of U.S. defense contracting dollars spent overseas, and which components are spending the most?
