At present, the situation on and around the Korean Peninsula is more urgent than at any time before. Two years ago, when the Kim Jong-un regime was launched, many people around the world expected that the young leader, who was partly educated in the West, would bring waves of change to North Korea. However, to our disappointment, Kim Jong-un’s behavior has fallen far short of those expectations. In fact, he is running counter to the hopes of all in the region.
